Everyone should recognize that DART cannot improve transit alone. LegacyConnect,
with our business and civic partners, submit these comments as a reflection of our commitment to supporting public transit as an essential service during and after the current biological, economic, and social disruptions begin to settle. But also recognize the services need to change, and we are committed to supporting DART in: 1) building the new partnerships needed to move forward , 2) addressing the needs of essential workers riding and operating public transit during extraordinary times, and 3) preparing our transit system to become a leader as the region turns towards recovery, and healthier and more economically resilient mobility.
Our comments focus on three important challenges to DART’s efficiency and potential strategies for a more sustainable and resilient future for Legacy, Plano, and the regional.
- Make job access a significant part of total transportation decision making.
- Link accessibility to next-generation metro growth policy and practice.
- Get the data and advanced technologies in place for more coordinated and collaborative decision making.
